Anna
Volontaire “Smile for Service”

This month, compassion turned into action as local businesses, restaurants, and volunteers joined forces to support Smiles for Service — a nonprofit providing free, high-quality dental care to U.S. and Ukrainian veterans.
The $20,000 raised will directly support Smiles for Service clinics in:
Each dollar raised means more veterans will receive care within days, not months — a promise Smiles for Service continues to keep.
For many of the local business owners, this cause felt deeply personal. Some had family members who served; others simply wanted to give back to those who gave so much.
“We can’t repay our veterans for their service,” said Anna Petrenko, owner of The Bluebird Café, “but we can make sure they never feel forgotten.”
Smiles for Service plans to continue partnering with local communities across the country to bring compassionate, timely dental care to veterans — because every smile deserves to be restored.
When it comes to supporting those who served, this community knows how to make a difference. Last weekend, local businesses and volunteers came together to raise $20,000 in support of Smiles for Service, a nonprofit providing free dental care for U.S. and Ukrainian veterans.
What began as a small idea quickly grew into a city-wide effort. Restaurants hosted charity dinners, small shops organized raffles, and families donated through online campaigns — all united by one purpose: to bring back smiles, restore confidence, and show gratitude to those who once served their country.

A heartfelt thank-you goes out to all who participated, including:
Their efforts proved that community support can create lasting impact — not just in smiles, but inlives.
For the Smiles for Service team, this fundraiser wasn’t just about numbers — it was about connection. Every dollar represents another veteran who can eat, speak, and smile without pain.
Together, these businesses turned gratitude into something tangible: care, comfort, and a chance for veterans to live without pain. Their support shows that when a community unites with purpose, real change — and real smiles — follow.
